Description:

Imagine designing earthquake-proof buildings, smart water systems, and futuristic cities. In Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU)'s Civil Engineering degree program you'll learn how to design, construct, operate and manage the lifecycle of critical infrastructure that communities depend on. In your first year, you'll study engineering fundamentals, like calculus and physics, and as you progress, you'll have the option to specialize in structural, environmental or transportation engineering. In your fourth year, you'll address a real-world challenge through a team capstone design project and present your solution to industry experts. Throughout your journey, you'll gain experience in labs with the latest software and tools, using data and AI to solve critical infrastructure challenges. You'll also have opportunities to gain practical experience through optional paid co-op and experiential initiatives.
